The Japanese climbing sensation with a dynamic style
Tomoa Narasaki was a gymnast before he started climbing at age 10. In 2016 and 2019, he won both the Bouldering World Championship and the overall title at the Bouldering World Cup. In 2019, Narasaki qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by winning gold in the IFSC Climbing World Championships. Tomoa formerly held the Japanese record for speed climbing with a time of 5.73 seconds. In 2022, he won silver at the Bouldering World Championships and placed first in all three disciplines – bouldering, lead and combined – at the Asian Championships.
